Meta has unveiled a new AI-powered wearable called Muse Charm at Meta Connect 2026, expanding its push to bring artificial intelligence beyond smartphones and computers.
The compact device resembles a keychain or a small Tamagotchi-style gadget and is designed to provide quick access to Meta’s Muse AI assistant. The company says the device will let users interact with the AI through voice without needing to open a smartphone app.

Meta Muse Charm Debuts at Connect 2026
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated the Muse Charm during the company’s Connect 2026 event. The announcement followed the company’s presentation of new Ray-Ban Meta products and Meta VR hardware.
The Muse Charm features a fingerprint sensor on one side that users can tap to start interacting with Muse. It also includes a front-facing camera and a small display capable of showing an animated avatar representing the AI assistant.
Meta describes the device as a pocket-sized companion designed around real-time voice interaction with Muse.
The company has not yet finalized all of the hardware specifications. Meta also has not announced the device’s price.
Holiday Launch Planned
Meta indicated that the Muse Charm is expected to arrive during the holiday shopping season later this year, potentially around December.
However, several details remain unknown, including its final hardware configuration, battery specifications, storage, connectivity options and retail price.
The device appears to be positioned as a dedicated interface for Meta’s AI rather than a conventional smartphone replacement.
What Is Meta Muse AI?
Muse is Meta’s AI agent designed to perform tasks on behalf of users. The system is available through dedicated apps on platforms including iOS, macOS and Android, as well as through WhatsApp.
According to Meta, Muse can perform tasks such as sending emails, booking tickets and completing online forms. It can also help organize files, locate documents and summarize information from services such as Messages, Calendar and Notes.
Meta says Muse operates within a dedicated virtual environment called Muse Secure VM, which is designed to provide a controlled environment for the AI to carry out tasks.
The company also says Muse can remember information from previous conversations and use relevant details when completing future tasks.
A New Direction for AI Wearables
The Muse Charm represents another step in Meta’s effort to make AI available through dedicated hardware rather than relying entirely on smartphones.
With its physical interaction button or fingerprint sensor, camera and small animated display, the device appears designed to make AI interactions more immediate and conversational.
