Tata Motors has revised the pricing of the Punch EV in India, making the electric SUV slightly more expensive in September 2026. The latest price increase affects both battery options, with the 30 kWh variants receiving a hike of ₹10,000, while select 40 kWh versions have become costlier by up to ₹20,000.
After the latest revision, the Tata Punch EV price now starts at ₹9.79 lakh and goes up to ₹12.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated Punch EV is the facelifted version introduced in February 2026. Along with refreshed styling, Tata Motors introduced new battery options and additional equipment. Buyers can also opt for the company’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which brings down the initial vehicle price.
Tata Punch EV New Prices
The entry-level Punch EV Smart with the 30 kWh battery is now priced at ₹9.79 lakh. The Smart Plus 30 kWh costs ₹10.39 lakh.
For customers looking at the larger 40 kWh battery, prices start at ₹11.19 lakh for the Smart Plus. The Adventure variant costs ₹11.94 lakh, while the Empowered is priced at ₹12.69 lakh. The range-topping Empowered Plus S is now available for ₹12.99 lakh.
Tata Motors has cited higher input costs as the reason behind the latest price revision.
| Variant | Battery | New Ex-Showroom Price |
|---|---|---|
| Smart | 30 kWh | ₹9.79 lakh |
| Smart Plus | 30 kWh | ₹10.39 lakh |
| Smart Plus | 40 kWh | ₹11.19 lakh |
| Adventure | 40 kWh | ₹11.94 lakh |
| Empowered | 40 kWh | ₹12.69 lakh |
| Empowered Plus S | 40 kWh | ₹12.99 lakh |
Punch EV BaaS: Starting Price of ₹6.49 Lakh
The Punch EV is also available through Tata Motors’ Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model. Under this arrangement, customers pay a lower upfront price for the vehicle and pay separately for battery usage based on kilometres driven.
With BaaS, the Punch EV has a starting price of ₹6.49 lakh. At launch, the battery rental charge was announced to start from ₹2.6 per kilometre.
This option can make the initial purchase cost considerably lower, although buyers need to account for the additional per-kilometre battery charge.
Updated Exterior Design
The facelifted Punch EV gets a number of styling changes that distinguish it from the earlier model. The front section features a closed-off grille, headlamps with black surrounds and a centrally positioned charging port.
A silver skid plate adds contrast to the front design, while the rear gets connected LED tail-lamps and grey body cladding. The electric SUV rides on 16-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and offers approximately 195mm of ground clearance.
Interior Features and Safety Equipment
Inside, Tata has given the Punch EV a refreshed cabin with a dual-tone theme, redesigned seats and revised trim finishes.
Higher-spec variants feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The equipment list also includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, sunroof, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting and automatic climate control.
Connected-car technology and voice assistance are also available.
On the safety front, the Punch EV gets six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, TPMS and ISOFIX as standard. Higher variants add equipment such as blind-spot monitoring, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and hill-descent control.
Battery, Power and Driving Range
Tata offers the Punch EV with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery packs.
The 30 kWh LFP battery version produces 88 bhp and 154 Nm, while the larger 40 kWh version develops 129 bhp and 154 Nm.
The 40 kWh model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in approximately 9 seconds.
The claimed ARAI/MIDC range for the 30 kWh version is around 365-375 km, while the 40 kWh variant offers a claimed range of up to 468 km.
65kW DC Fast Charging
The Punch EV supports 65kW DC fast charging. Tata Motors says the 40 kWh battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in around 26 minutes.
The company also claims that approximately 135 km of range can be added in 15 minutes of charging.
With the latest price revision, the Punch EV continues to compete in India’s growing electric SUV market, offering two battery choices, a range of equipment and the option of BaaS for buyers looking to reduce the upfront purchase cost.
