Punjab Police have arrested Manjit Singh Bedi, an Indian-born US citizen who was reportedly on the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list in connection with a $600,000 SNAP benefits fraud case.
According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, Bedi was arrested in Jalandhar and carried a $150,000 reward in the US. He allegedly fled to India through Canada in April 2026 after being charged with wire fraud and SNAP benefits fraud.
US authorities allege that Bedi ran a grocery store in Tacoma, Washington, where he illegally exchanged customers’ food-benefit funds for cash and kept part of the proceeds.
A US federal court issued an arrest warrant for Bedi on May 21, 2026, after he allegedly violated the conditions of his supervision and fled the country.
