Royal Enfield has launched the new Himalayan 440 in India at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle brings back the simpler, rugged adventure-bike formula associated with the Himalayan 411, while adding a more powerful 443cc engine, a six-speed gearbox and updated braking hardware.
The Himalayan 440 is based on Royal Enfield’s 440 platform and shares its engine with the Scram 440. However, it gets longer suspension travel, a larger 21-inch front wheel and higher ground clearance, making it more focused on adventure touring and rough-road riding.

The biggest mechanical update is the new 443cc single-cylinder, long-stroke engine. It produces:
