An IndiGo flight from Goa to Delhi made an emergency landing at Manohar International Airport, Goa, after a technical problem was detected in one of its engines shortly after takeoff.
IndiGo Flight 6E 2102 departed from Goa at around 9:16 am and was scheduled to arrive in Delhi at 11:45 am. However, after the technical issue was detected, the pilots turned the aircraft around and returned to Goa as a precaution.
The aircraft landed safely on Runway 28 at approximately 9:51 am and was subsequently parked at Stand 6.
Passengers Safely Taken Off Aircraft
After landing, all passengers were safely escorted from the aircraft and taken to the airport’s boarding area.
According to data from flight-tracking website Flightradar24, the aircraft turned back toward Goa after reaching the coastal region of southern Maharashtra. The plane was reportedly flying at an altitude of around 14,000 feet when it made the U-turn.
The Delhi-bound passengers were scheduled to continue their journey on a rescheduled flight at around 3:30 pm. The revised departure was subject to the completion of the aircraft’s technical inspection, necessary clearances and other operational requirements.
The exact cause of the engine-related technical problem has not yet been determined.
IndiGo Issues Statement
IndiGo said a technical issue was detected shortly after Flight 6E 2102 departed from North Goa for Delhi.
According to the airline, the crew followed standard operating procedures and informed the relevant authorities after the issue was detected. The pilots then decided to return to Manohar International Airport, where the aircraft landed safely.
An IndiGo spokesperson said the aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance checks. It will be returned to service after the necessary inspections and clearances have been completed.
The incident temporarily disrupted the Goa-Delhi journey for passengers, who were provided with a revised travel schedule while the aircraft underwent technical checks.
