Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared a photograph from the BRICS 2026 Summit in Delhi, showing him alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The image has quickly emerged as one of the notable moments from the summit, highlighting the presence of three major global leaders on the same platform.
Sharing the photograph on social media platform X, PM Modi announced that the BRICS Summit 2026 had officially begun in Delhi.
The post also featured a wider group photograph in which Modi, Xi Jinping and Putin were seen alongside Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Indonesian Prime Minister Prabowo Subianto.

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Delhi on Friday morning to participate in the summit, while Chinese President Xi Jinping reached India on Saturday afternoon for the BRICS meeting.
Their presence alongside PM Modi has put the spotlight on the summit as leaders discuss a range of issues affecting the Global South and the wider international community.
BRICS Summit Begins in New Delhi

Alongside the main summit discussions, a series of bilateral meetings are also taking place between participating leaders.
The day’s engagements began with PM Modi emphasizing the need for the Global South to have a greater role in global decision-making.
Modi said India is prepared to provide policymakers from Global South countries with the information and training needed to participate more effectively in international discussions.
Modi-Putin Meeting Held Ahead of Summit
PM Modi also held a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday evening.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed cooperation across several important areas, including politics, the economy, defence, energy, space, skill mobility and people-to-people relations.
The discussions come as India and Russia continue to maintain close ties across multiple strategic sectors.
Modi-Xi Meeting to Focus on Key Issues
A bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping is also scheduled to draw significant attention during the summit.
The discussions are expected to cover the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), along with trade, investment and economic cooperation between India and China.
The border issue is likely to remain a key part of the conversation as New Delhi and Beijing work to strengthen the improvement seen in their bilateral relations in recent times.
With Modi, Putin and Xi Jinping appearing together at the BRICS platform, the Delhi summit has already produced a highly significant diplomatic image, while discussions between the participating leaders are expected to shape the agenda of the two-day meeting.
