Gujarat security agencies were put on high alert after an anonymous email allegedly threatened to bomb the BJP’s central office in Ahmedabad, the Koba office, and the Somnath Temple. The email also reportedly mentioned Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Threat Sent Through Anonymous Email
According to the information available, an unidentified person sent an email claiming that bombs had been planted at the Somnath Temple and several other locations in Gujarat.
The message reportedly contained provocative and anti-national statements, along with slogans supporting Pakistan. Authorities are investigating the email and trying to establish the identity and motive of the sender.
Intensive Search at BJP Office
Following the threat, Ahmedabad Police and security agencies immediately launched a search operation at the BJP office in the Khanpur area.
Police personnel, fire brigade teams and a dog squad thoroughly searched the premises and surrounding areas. Several senior officials, including Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot, also reached the location as security measures were stepped up.
No Suspicious Object Found
Security teams conducted an extensive search of the premises but did not find any suspicious object during the operation, providing relief to those present.
The state’s security agencies remain on alert. The Cyber Crime Branch has also begun an investigation to trace the person behind the threatening email and determine whether the threat was genuine or intended to create panic.
