The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which oversees the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, has been expanded with the inclusion of three new members. Nirmala Yadav, Mahesh Bhagchandka and Madan Mohan Pandey have been given key responsibilities as part of the latest expansion.
The inclusion of Nirmala Yadav is particularly significant as she has become the first woman member of the Ram Temple Trust. She has previously been associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and played an important role in its fund collection campaign for the construction of the Ram Temple.
Nirmala Yadav Becomes First Woman Trustee
Nirmala Yadav’s appointment marks an important change in the composition of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. She has been involved in activities associated with the VHP and had a notable role during the Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan, which was conducted to collect contributions for the Ram Temple.
Her inclusion now gives the trust its first female member.
Mahesh Bhagchandka’s Connection With Ashok Singhal
Another new member, Mahesh Bhagchandka, has a close association with the family of former VHP president and Ram Temple movement leader Ashok Singhal.
Bhagchandka currently heads the Ashok Singhal Foundation and has remained involved in activities connected with the Ram Temple movement and Hindu religious causes.
His association with the Ram Temple dates back several years. During the 2020 Ram Temple Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, he reportedly served as one of the principal hosts involved in the religious proceedings.
He also attended the historic Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony in January 2024 along with his family.
Madan Mohan Pandey Brings Legal Experience
The third new member, Madan Mohan Pandey, is a senior advocate from Ayodhya who has been associated with the legal battle concerning the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute for many years.
His legal expertise has also earned him an important position in the Uttar Pradesh government. Following the formation of the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh, Pandey was appointed Additional Advocate General of the state in the High Court.
His long experience with the Ram Janmabhoomi case is expected to bring significant legal expertise to the trust.
Why the Ram Temple Trust Expansion Matters
The addition of the three members brings different areas of experience to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
- Nirmala Yadav brings experience from VHP-related activities and becomes the trust’s first woman member.
- Mahesh Bhagchandka has a longstanding connection with the Ram Temple movement and the Ashok Singhal Foundation.
- Madan Mohan Pandey brings extensive legal experience from his association with the Ram Janmabhoomi case.
The expansion is therefore significant not only because of the new appointments but also because of the diverse experience the three members bring to the trust.
